Stand Up. Sit Down. Fight, Fight, Fight!

In the news:

You sit for long periods of time each day at your job. What difference could a quick potty break, a brief trip to the printer, etc do for your waistline? How about shrink it.

A new study published by the European Heart Journal (a peer-reviewed medical journal), showed that sedentary people who took short frequent breaks throughout their day had smaller waistlines and a lower risk of heart disease than sedentary people who did not take frequent breaks and participated in regular moderate exercise.

Get over the guilt of walking away from your desk for 1 minute now and then and do yourself some good! Walk away with a purpose and no one will question you.

Super Bowl Recipe #1 Oven Baked Zucchini Sticks

Canola or olive oil cooking spray

1/2 cup whole-wheat flour

1/2 cup all-purpose flour (I actually use 1 cup of whole wheat flour and omit the white but its up to you)

2 tablespoon cornmeal

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper

1 1/2 pounds zucchini, (about 3 medium), cut into 1/2-by-3-inch sticks

2 large egg whites, lightly beaten

Step 1

Preheat oven to 475°F. Coat a large baking sheet with cooking spray.

Step 2
Combine flours, cornmeal, salt and pepper in a large sealable plastic bag. Dip zucchini in egg white, shake in the bag to coat, and arrange, not touching, on the baking sheet. Coat all exposed sides with cooking spray.

Step 3
Bake on the center rack for 7 minutes. Turn the zucchini and coat any floury spots with cooking spray. Continue to bake until golden and just tender, about 5 minutes more. Serve hot.

Makes 4 servings. 127 calories per serving.
